  6.  ABOUT THE CATALOG...
  7.  
  8.       Throughout the catalog you can press the F1 key to display     
  9.  "context sensitive help".  This means the help displayed will       
  10.  reference whatever position you are in the catalog.
  11.  
  12.       The catalog contains high quality selected Shareware and Public
  13.  Domain software titles.  Each of these programs have been tested and
  14.  reviewed for use on a IBM or compatible computer that has at least
  15.  256k RAM, DOS 2.x or better, and a CGA or Monochrome graphics card
  16.  and monitor.  Additional requirements are listed in the descriptions
  17.  of each individual program.

  19.       Each program has been rated with 1 to 5 *'s (stars).
  20.  (1 being poor, 5 being fantastic).  The * rating system is based on
  21.  six questions we ask of every program.
  22.  
  23.       1. Is program full featured and performs as expected?
  24.       2. Is program well documented or has online help?
  25.       3. Is program easy to use and learn?
  26.       4. Does program have a modern intuitive interface?
  27.       5. What is quality of program compared to like programs?
  28.       6. Is program crippled or annoying? 1=yes 2=some 3=no

  30.       Each question can be answered with a value of 1 to 3.  (1=Poor,
  31.  2=OK, 3=Excellent)  A computer program generates the * rating based
  32.  on the reviewer's answers.

  34.       If all six questions are answered with 3's the program will
  35.  generate a *****! rating.  This indicates a superior program and
  36.  makes for excellent search criteria.  If all six are answered with
  37.  1's a 1 * rating will be generated.  The reason a 1 * program  will
  38.  exist in our catalog will be because it is unique enough !

  43.       The catalog on a disk is a program for viewing descriptions of
  44.  and accessing the Shareware and Public Domain software in our 
  45.  library.

  47.  REQUIREMENTS
  48.  
  49.       The Catalog on a Disk program will run on any PC compatible
  50.  computer with 384k or more RAM and DOS 3.0 or better.  It looks best
  51.  on a color monitor, but will run on any kind.  If you are using
  52.  monochrome start the catalog with the /m parameter.  It will support
  53.  a microsoft compatible mouse.  It can be used with any configuration
  54.  of drives.  Hard disks, single floppies and dual floppies can all be
  55.  used to their best advantage.

  57.  HOW TO SET IT UP...

  60.       Regardless of the type of disk media you've received this
  61.  catalog on it is easy to install.
  62.  
  63.       To install it on a hard drive change to the \CONTENTS directory
  64.  then type INSTALL and press ENTER.  Follow the install program's
  65.  directions to complete the installation.
